The beginning of Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home dates back to 1946, when George William (Bill) Rinehart purchased the Tanner-Poindexter Company's funeral home in Jesup and began operating it under the name of Rinehart Funeral Home. In 1963 Bill Rinehart and his older son George William (Billy) Rinehart, Jr. formed a partnership and renamed the funeral home Rinehart and Sons. Later in the 1960's Calvin Gene Rinehart joined his father and brother in the family owned business. In 1982 when Billy Rinehart passed away his widow, Linda Rinehart now Linda Williamson, took her late husbands place. In 1991, George William Rinehart III, a third generation Rinehart joined the firm. After retiring as an educator, Leslie Rinehart Miller began working full time in the family business in 2011.
For over 79 years we have served our community and surrounding areas with professionalism and compassion. Funeral service has changed over the years but our service and commitment to excellence has never changed. Since the Rinehart family started this funeral home we have been "committed to service with dignity and honor." This tradition of caring service came from predecessors George William "Bill" Rinehart, Mary Eulee Rinehart, George William Rinehart, Jr., and Calvin Gene Rinehart. We still honor them and their many years of service. Rinehart and Sons we are proud to serve all those in our area. We are proud to be home owned and operated. We will gladly serve and work with you as your needs require and you can always count on us to do what is right. This has worked for our family since beginning in 1946 and we pray this will always continue.
