Leonard "Len" M. Hauss, 79, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.  The Wayne County native was a member of Jesup First Baptist Church and a 1960 Graduate of Wayne County High School where he was a three-year Yellow Jacket letterman as a fullback, lineman and linebacker. Hauss chose the University of Georgia over a host of colleges and universities nationwide where he played center for the Bulldogs. After college graduation, he played professional football with the Washington Redskins for 14 years.  After retiring from sports, he continued his career in the banking industry. His parents, Leonard and Ida Hauss preceded him in death along with his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Claudia Johnson and brothers-in-law, Johnny Johnson and Sherman Burch.

Survivors are a wife of 59 years, Janis Johnson Hauss of Jesup; a daughter, Lana (Dana) Snyder of Winder; two granddaughters, Jobie (Christian) Bailey of Maysville and Charlie-Len Snyder of Winder; a sister, Lenell Burch of Jesup; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny (Linda) Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; several nieces and nephews

A celebration of life service will be 3 PM Monday, December 20, 2021 at Jesup First Baptist Church with Dr. Felix Haynes officiating. Private interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
