George William "Buddy" McReady, 78, of Screven, died surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.  He spent most of his life in Screven and was a retired farmer and 19-year employee with Rayonier.  He especially enjoyed working with old cars, watching Westerns, and spending time with his family.  He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Annie Evors McReady; brothers, Benny and Wayne McReady; sister, Linda Gail Hughes.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Nell Oliver McReady; daughters, Darlene Tillman of Blackshear and Donna Kay (Stacey) Morgan of Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Donald McReady of Savannah and Mackey (Tonya) McReady of Screven; sisters, Shirley (Robert) Sheffield and Genell Roberson of Screven; brothers, Lamar (Linda) McReady of Jesup and Herman (Thelma) McReady of Screven; grandchildren, Jay and Luke McReady, Denton Denison, Lacie Thomas, and Candis Morgan; great grandchildren, Jonah and Kora McReady, Alivia and Blaiden Thomas, Dawson Denison, Khloe Brock, and Paislee Brainbridge.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 23, 2018, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Mullis and Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating.  Graveside service will follow with nephew, Norman Franklin officiating.  Interment will be in Thompson Cemetery, 169 Annie Thompson Road, Jesup, GA  31545.  Active pallbearers will be Jay, Luke, and Kevin McReady, Denton Denison, Lacie Thomas, and Ronnie Mullis.  Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Georgia Hospice Care and Harborview Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service at the funeral home.
