Cliff Miles, 83, of Jesup, GA., died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at his residence. The Long County, GA, native had lived most of his life in Wayne County, GA, and was a Jesup High School graduate. He was a member of the Jesup Church of God, former pastor's council member, Sunday School Teacher, and enjoyed ministerial Lay speaking in numerous churches. He was a 27 year retiree with ITT Rayonier and a U. S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II. He was predeceased by a sister: Alice M. Dunham & a brother: Paul S. Miles. Survivors are his wife of 63 years: Freda Hires Miles of Jesup, GA, a daughter and son-in-law: Sherry (Mike) Martin of Jesup, GA, 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Derek (Vicki Reddish) Miles, Dr. Dale (Angie Brannen) Miles, both of Savannah, GA, a brother: Foreman (Ivalene) Miles of Jesup, GA, a sister: Nina M. Harden of Jesup, GA, 6 grandchildren: Jason (Hannah Harrell)Martin, Dr. Rebecca Martin, Lauren Miles, Brannen Miles, Chase Miles, and Jenna Miles, 2 great-grandchildren: Mollie Martin and Miles Martin, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 A. M. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from the Jesup Church of God with Rev. Calvin Anderson, Jason Martin, and Rev. R. M. Warren officiating. Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Brannen Miles, Chase Miles, John Dunham, Dustin Dunham, Herschel Hires, and Jerry Hires. Honorary pallbearers are Stetson Bennett, David Herrin, Herb Shaw, Larry Brinkley, Wesley Wilder, Kenny Brannen, Stanley English, Rev. Jim Mitchell, Tim Harris, David Olsen, Mike Roberts, Frank Owens, David Conner, J.D. Harper, Ken Woods, Gene Moody, Raymond Ogden, Bill Zeagler, Bruce Durrence, Gerald Dewitt, Darrell Beasley, David Parker, Preston Hope, Bryan Rogers, and Mike Deal. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P. M. Monday from the funeral home.
