Odum, Ga. Hires J. Hall, 89 of Odum, Ga. died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his residence after a short illness. The Florida native and former resident of Maryland had lived in Wayne County, Ga. the past 17 years and was a member of Odum Church of God. He was a chemical salesman, served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Reserves in overseas action, and was an avid golfer. Survivors are his wife of 26 years: Gwen Merritt Hall of Odum, Ga., a daughter: Candy Hall Carter of Severna Park, Maryland; a son: Stanley (Lynne) Hall of Arnold, Maryland; 2 sisters: Faye Margotta and Judy (Dick) Parker, both of Lakeland, Fla.; 3 stepsons: Dean (Tammy) Tate of Gainesville, Fla., Jimmy Tate of Smith, Ala., David (Sandra) Tate of Middleburg, Fla.; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating. Interment will be in the Odum Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family. Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
