Jesup, Ga. Joanne Sewell Edmondson, 79 of Jesup, Ga. died February 23, 2012 after an extended illness. The Walterboro, S.C. native had lived in Wayne County, Ga. most of her life and was a homemaker. As a pastor's wife, she served faithfully in many supportive ministries in churches in Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia and was a choir member, soloist and pianist in numerous churches. She is predeceased by her parents, J.B. and Zoey Miley Sewell; her daughter, Marcia; her grandson, Zane Ensley. Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Rev. James D. Edmondson of Jesup, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Bridget and Jerry Murphy of Orlando, Fla., a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Veranda Edmondson of Duluth, Ga.; a half-brother, Brennan Sewell of Americus, Ga.; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Jesup Church of God with Rev. James D. Edmondson, Rev. Tommy Powell and Rev. Dewaine Joyner officiating. Private entombment services will be held by the family. Visitation will be 1 to 2 P.M. prior to services at the church. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
