Obituary

Jesup, Ga. Mary A. Kicklighter, 80 of Jesup, Ga. died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Ga. native was an active member of First Freewill Baptist Church, where she was in the Joy Sunday School Class, choir member, former Sunday school teacher, CTS (training union) worker, church clerk and served in the church nursery. She retired as a case worker for the Department of Family and Children Services. She was the past president and member of the Ruby Riggins Camellia Garden Club, founding board member of Fairhaven Battered Women's Shelter, founding member of the Good Samaritan Center in Jesup and volunteered for over 20 years with the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In the hospital, she worked in the gift shop and in the ICU waiting room where she would assist and minister to the families. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Louise Anderson. Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Dianne Kicklighter, Clay and Lisa Kicklighter, both of Jesup, Ga.; 3 grandsons, Casey, Cheston and Grayson Kicklighter, all of Jesup, Ga.; a brother, Harold "Buddy" Anderson of Valdosta, Ga.; two nephews, Brian Anderson of Valdosta, Ga. and Michael Anderson of Kansas City, Mo.; a niece, Pamela Anderson of Atlanta, Ga.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Jack Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Odum City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Ruby Riggins Camellia Garden Club and the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, April 10,2014 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church, 795 S.
