Jesup, Ga.

Jesse Hargrove, 90 of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Wayne Memorial Hospital and under the care of Heartland Hospice. The Toombs County, Ga. native had lived in Wayne County, Ga. most of his adult life and was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran. He was a retired shift supervisor with ITT Rayonier. The Georgia Coast was his fishing playground and loved to work with wood but his favorite time was spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Zella and Morrie Townsend; a sister, Margaret Rhodes and a brother, Joe Townsend.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Betty Daves Hargrove of Jesup, Ga.; two sons, Mike and Michelle Hargrove of Jesup, Ga., George and Cindy Hargrove of North Texas; a special "daughter", Margaret and Mike Redwine of Baxley, Ga.; a special "son", Levi Yoder of Screven, Ga.; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Kelly Hargrove, Joseph Hargrove and fiancé, Stacy Simmons, Kristena and Eric Kenn, all of Jesup, Ga., Jennifer and Lee Daniels of Odum, Ga., Katie and Mark Vanwitzenburg of Tenn., Jocelyn and Mike Findley of Richmond Hill, Ga.; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Evonia Griffin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Alice Young, Lillian Townsend, Clifford Townsend, all of Darien, Ga.; brothers, Jimmy Townsend of Darien, Ga., William and Lila Townsend of Margate, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Mike Redwine and Keith Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Hargrove, Levi Yoder, Joseph Hargrove, Lee Daniels, Eric Kenn, Mark Vanwitzenburg, Dylan Hargrove and Patrick Wright.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 P.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
