Jesup, Georgia

Myrtice Howard Brown, 47, of Jesup, Ga., died Thursday, January 12, 2017, after a short illness.  The Wayne Co., Ga., native was a member of the Unity Church of God, a homemaker, and a former employee of Winn-Dixie in Brunswick.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, being with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband of 19 years, Moses Brown of Jesup;  6 daughters, Kendra Howard, Shirley Jones, Jabrarie Jones, Tangie Brown, Leesha Howard, and Adriene Howard, all of Jesup; parents, Elbert Howard and Mae Starling, both of Jesup;   2 sisters, Sarah Mathis, Deanna Miller, both of Jesup; brothers, Elbert Davis and Joey Howard, both of Kingsland, Tommy Howard of Augusta; 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Unity Church of God with Pastor Calvin Anderson officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Oaks Memorial Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to services.
