Jesup, Ga.

Mamie Jean Carter Tyre, 82 of Jesup died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Memorial University and Health Center in Savannah Ga. of an apparent heart attack.  The Ware County native had lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a charter member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church.  She retired from SunTrust Bank and was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, William Revis "Bill" Tyre, Sr. of Jesup; two sons, Bill (Nell) Tyre of Jesup, Tim (Tammy) Tyre of St. Simons Island; 5 grandchildren, William (Laurie) Tyre III, Jenny (Adam) Thomas, Kelly (Brandon) Purcell, Abby and Maggie Tyre; 5 great grandchildren, Neely Thomas, Wills Tyre, Briggs Thomas, Hardie Purcell, Lundie Purcell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Pastor Josh Stafford and Dale Tyre officiating.  Interment will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Terry Walker, Spec Williamson, Doug Dixon, David Dixon, Mike DiNello and Rev. Dennie Waters.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Blessed Sunday School of Anderson Drive Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
