Screven, Georgia

Douglas Eugene "Doug" Sorrells, 57, of Screven, died Saturday, October 21, 2017, at his residence after a short illness. He was a former resident of Glynn Co., and had lived in Wayne County the past 12 years. He was a welder and roofer, he enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, fishing and helping out with many neighbors. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Wood and sister, Debbie Bell.

Survivors are a daughter, Kori Snelson of Jacksonville, Fl., a son, Douglas "Doodle" Sorrells of Jacksonville, Fl., several step-children, Michael Wood and Steven Wood, both of Jacksonville, Fl., 2 sisters, Connie Smith of Brunswick, Tina Strayer of Waynesville, brother, Robert Willis of Brunswick, extended family, Wendell and Angie O'Neal and their children, Ashley, Amber and J. W. O'Neal, all of Screven.

Memorial services will be held by his family.

The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of the arrangements.
