Bristol, Ga.

Leland Brooker, 76 of Bristol, Ga. died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home under the care of Community Hospice of Vidalia. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church and a retired construction worker with IBEW Local 613 out of Atlanta. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, woodworking and being "Papa" to all of his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Patsy Hodges Brooker; parents, Morris and Pearl Strickland Brooker; two brothers, Bobby and James Brooker.

Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and Vic Brantley of Baxley, Ga., Tina Brooker of Jesup, Ga.; a son, Leland Michael Brooker of Townsend, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, Kaylah Pearce, Chelse Clements, Jackson, Olivia and Morgan Brantley, Tyler Woodcock, Payton and Carson Brooker; 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Geneva Goff, Juanita Lewis and Shirley (Paul) Simniok, all of Jesup; a brother, Jerry(Ruby) Brooker of Jesup; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, 1944 Piney Grove Church Road, Bristol, Ga. 31518 with Rev. Tim Brantley and Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Bristol, Ga. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
