Wilton Aubrey Sapp, 78, of Hinesville, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.  The Wayne County native was reared in Appling County and graduated from Appling County High School in 1962.  He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. The New Hope Freewill Baptist Church member was a retired ITT Rayonier employee.  He enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, painting, playing the guitar, and coaching little league teams when his sons were little.  His 3 brothers, Howard, Jerome and Teddy Sapp preceded him in death along with his sister, Algladis Sapp.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Smith Woods Sapp of Hinesville; two sons, Michael (Bianca) Sapp of Macon and Mitchell (Billie) Sapp of Jesup; 4 grandchildren, Alex and Miranda Sapp, Sydney (Jonathan) Hebert and Zoey Sapp; two great grandchildren, Davie and River; a sister, Sylvia Sapp; stepsons, Joseph (Ashlee) Woods of Phoenix, Az. and Andrew (Kelli) Woods of Kennesaw, Ga. and their children, Savannah, Nola, Georgia, Ava, Isla, Julia and Hanna.

Graveside funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2023 in Midway Church Cemetery in Appling County, 101 Midway Church Road, Baxley, GA 31513 with Dennis Dunham officiating.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
