Wilma "Coot" Boatright, 96, of Jesup, Ga. died Thursday, April 18, 2024. The Bacon County native was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and an accomplished housekeeper and worked diligently in maintaining one of the most beautiful yards and gardens, including her favorite amaryllis. She was a devoted wife of 74 years to her predeceased husband, Frank Smith Boatright; a son, Charles Danny Boatright, great-great grandson, Jaxon Frank Taylor; a sister, Katie Hilton and 3 brothers, Leon, Ernest and Jack Boatright; son-in-law, J.D. "Preacher" Hayes.
Survivors are daughters, Patsy Hayes, Sue (L.H. "Buddy"), Blocker, and Ellen (Bill) Taylor all of Jesup; 5 grandaughters, Dana Simbra, Kristi Hayes, Jan Taylor, Jennifer and Stephanie Boatright; 4 grandsons, Chris and Colby Blocker, Billy Taylor and Charlie Boatright; 7 great grandchildren, Courtney Crabb, Kaitlyn Hightower, Isabella Simbra, Hannah Taylor, Ella Grace Taylor, Patrick and Jessie Taylor; 3 great-great grandchildren, Davis Hightower, Blythe Crabb and Charlotte Rae Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Pat Boatright; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Dennie Waters officiating. Interment will follow in the Martha Memorial Cemetery, 440 Martha Memorial Loop, Bristol, GA 31518. Active pallbearers will be her family.
Visitation will be an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
