Willie Sakuta, 75, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024.  The SC native and former resident of Lake City, Penn. had lived in Jesup for several years.  He was a 31-year retired Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy and active in the VFW and American Legion in Jesup and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 494 in Girard, Penn. Willie was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader for many years.  His parents, Michael (Hazel) Sakuta and Helen Thrift preceded him in death along with his brother, Frank Sakuta.

Survivors are a brother, Kevin (Cindi) Sakuta of Jesup; a sister, Debbie Pounds of Jesup; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Larry Harris officiating.  Interment will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
