William "Price" Chapman, Jr., 82, of Ludowici, Ga. died Monday, June 10, 2024. The Long County native was a member of Jones Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Music Leader, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He   was instrumental in music programs in many area churches. After graduating Ludowici High School in 1959, he attended Truett McConnell College and later earned a Sociology Degree from Georgia Southern College. He served his community as a former president of Long County Jaycees, a former volunteer with Ludowici Fire Department, and helped to start the Long County Lions Club. He was also a member of the "Sons of Jubal" men's choir. Christian gospel music was his first love and thereby he had many invitations to lead and participate in many community services. He was predeceased by his parents, Price and Frankie Wilson Chapman; his sister, Linda Chapman.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Connie Stafford Chapman of Ludowici; daughter, Laura (Eric) Purser of Ringgold, GA; a son, Billy (Bethanne) Chapman of Hickory, NC; sisters, Jackie Morgan of Savannah, GA; Sue Lutes of Ormond Beach, FL; 4 grandsons, Ethan and Evan Purser, Henry and Ollie Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 from Jones Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Davis and Pastor Allan Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Jones Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Thursday from Jones Creek Baptist Church.
