Wayne Stanfield, 75, of Hortense, Ga., formerly of Screven, passed away, Friday, June 21, 2024. The Wayne County native was a farmer, a member of Ritch Baptist Church, a master carpenter, and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam Conflict receiving 2 Bronze Service Stars, 2 Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. He is predeceased by his parents, Rufus and Louise Stanfield; brothers, Dwight Stanfield, Cameron Stanfield, and Parnell Stanfield; a son, Michael Strait.

Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Sandra Collins Stanfield of Hortense; a son, Joshua Stanfield of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a daughter, Shiloh Strait of Darien; brothers, Phillip Stanfield and Larry Stanfield of Screven; a sister, Betty Jean Murphy of Jesup; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with family officiating.

Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services at the chapel.
