Wayne Allen Brewer, 78, a native of Wayne County and raised in Baxley, Ga. died Sunday, January 8, 2023. The 21-year Air Force retired veteran traveled the world including tours in Guam, Thailand, Japan, England and in five states. His goal was to obtain rank of Chief Master Sergeant and to obtain a college degree and he reached both of these goals in year 19 of service. After his retirement, he completed 15 years with Civil Service and then returned to Wayne County to live his best life. His love of children lead him to become a Mason and Shriner. For many years, he was Santa for the underprivileged children. He was predeceased by his parents.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Fran Brewer; daughters, Kimberly (Victor) Cote and Karen Young; grandchildren, Justin (Blaire) Cote, Caleb Young, Zachary Cote, and Emma Young; sister, Beth Brewer Spinharney; specials nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2022 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Phil Bunce officiating with Masonic Rites by Jesup Lodge #112. Active pallbearers will be fellow Masons. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with full military honors.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia Building Fund, 1625 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, GA. 31545 or to Alee Shriners Hospital, P.O.Box 14147, Savannah, GA. 31416.
