Walter Jr. Blanton, 80, of Brunswick, Ga. passed away on December 5, 2025. He was born to Walter Eugene Blanton and Willie Hartley Blanton.  The Glynn County native was a graduate of Wayne County High School and joined the Army after high school and served in Vietnam. He was a retiree with Gibson McDonald and King & Prince Seafood in Brunswick and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Carl W. Blanton, a granddaughter, Sabre Blanton, two sisters, Ruby Nell Chambless and Inez Todd, two brothers, Lowell and James Blanton.

Survivors are two daughters, Anita V. (James) Gambrell of Kentucky and Lisa (Allan) Frazier of Virginia; six grandchildren, Veronica Gambrell, Benjamin (Samatha) Blanton, Lance (Mary) Gambell, Brittany Blanton, Tori Gambrell-Atkins (Tully), and Carl (Tawcha) Blanton; 11 great grandchildren, Bianca Blanton, Sabre Blanton, David Blanton, Sophia Blanton, Lucas Atkins, Lanceton Gambrell, Grayson Blanton, Grant Gambrell, Chandler Blanton, Lucy Atkins, and Austin Miller.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home with grandson, Rev. Lance Gambrell officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
