Tommy Leroy Kirkland, 85, of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Hospice of South Georgia Inpatient Unit. The Wayne County native was a Baptist, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a retired Rayonier employee. In retirement he became an avid golfer and was a member of Pine Forest Country Club Men’s Golf Association. His favorite time was teeing off with the Men’s 12:30 group. He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Eloise Gray Kirkland; sisters, Christine Brewer, Irene Beard, Mamie Sanderlin and Lula Mae Tharp; brothers, Clarence, James, Johnny and Theron Kirkland.

Survivors are two sons, Jody (Jennifer) Kirkland of Callahan, Fla. and Bryan (Ayako) Kirkland of Savannah, and their mother, Bridgette (Harold) Rowell of Jesup; brother, Bill Kirkland of Jesup; grandchildren, Austin, Daniel, Connor, Raegan, Tyler and stepdaughter, Maraya.

A celebration of life service will be 11 AM, Friday, June 26, 2026, at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Chaplain Dale Bange officiating.

Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM prior to services.

The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of the arrangements.
