Obituary

Jesup, Ga.

Thomas E. "Tom" Woodcock, 65, of Jesup died Sunday, July 3, 2016 after a short illness.  The Pierce County, Ga. native and graduate from Patterson High School had lived in Wayne County most of his adult life and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Tom was the owner of Altamaha Overhead Doors, Inc. and was currently working with Advance Door Systems.  He enjoyed his family and was known for his great sense of humor and wit but was very dedicated to helping others. He was predeceased by his father, Eldon Woodcock.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Brenda Manning Woodcock of Jesup; two daughters and a son-in-law, Millie Woodcock of Nahunta, Heather and Rick Howard of Jesup; a son, Cedric Woodcock of Jesup; his mother, Ruth J. Woodcock of Waverly; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Randy Sellers of Claxton, Deborah and James Sigman of Waverly, Evonne and Mike Swanson of Rockingham, N.C., Sandra Woodcock of Waverly; 6 grandchildren, Chase O'Steen, Rush, Caite and Macelyn Howard, Kayla and Cedney Woodcock; great granddaughter, Ari Howard; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a special aunt, Alyne Leggett of Brunswick; a special uncle, Buddy Woodcock of Newark, Delaware.

Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery, New Home Church Road, Patterson. Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 P.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
