Sherman "Tom" Tilley, 76, of Jesup, Ga. died Thursday, June 6, 2024.  The former Ferndale Washington resident had lived in Wayne County the past 22 years and was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church.  Upon serving several years in the U.S. Army as staff sergeant where he led a LRRP Team in Vietnam.  He later began his career as an appliance repair man for many years and enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Susan Tilley of Jesup; a son, Nathan Tilley of Jesup; a brother, Sammy Tilley of Guyton.

Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Altamaha Baptist Church with Reverends Deven Mixon and Chris Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
