Joseph "Stanton" Mullis, 81, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The Wayne County native, 1961 Screven High School graduate was a member of Northside Bible Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.  His wife, Faye Denison Mullis preceded him in death along with his parents, Leroy and Tennie Denison Mullis and a sister, Eleanor Larisey; brother, Theron Mullis.

Survivors are his daughter, Amy (Kevin) Sharpe of Odum; 4 sons, Jeff (Janet) Mullis, Wayne (Tracy) Mullis of Jesup, Lee (Nicole) Mullis of Atlanta and Shon (Michelle) Mullis of Jesup; two brothers, Marion (Zee) Mullis and Gary Mullis; 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Anthony Hipps and nephew, Rev. Chad O'Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Wesleyan Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
