Shirley Ann Smith, 87, of Jesup, Ga. passed suddenly with her family by her side on Monday, October 20, 2025. The Appling County, Ga. native spent most of her life in Ludowici, Ga. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church. She worked in various careers from healthcare, sales, childcare, and food service. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed keeping up with everyone, spending time with family, shopping, traveling, gardening, getting her nails and hair done and taking care of her various beloved pets. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Alice Virginia Hutto Hutcheson, Coy Lee Hutcheson, along with her Frist and Second Husbands, Arnie Lowell Strickland, and James Walter Smith, and her son, Gary Lee Strickland Sr., her siblings, Juanita Honeycut, Myrtle Lee Turner, Beatrice Nobles, Vernon Walker, Aaron Walker Sr.

Survivors are her three sons, Larry (Lil) Strickland of Starke, FL., Wilton (Terry) Strickland of Jesup, GA., Fred (Sarah) Rhoden of Jesup, Ga.; her five daughters, Deborah (Albert) Hosea of Brazoria TX., Alice Strickland of Jesup, GA., Martha Morton of Galveston TX., Brenda (Jeff) Farley of Brazoria TX., Joye (Vance) Epperson of Jesup, GA.; 27 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews.
