Scott H. "Scotty"' Thornton, 31, of Jesup, Ga. died Monday, April 7, 2025. The Ware County native had lived in Wayne County most of his life and was a construction worker. He enjoyed video games, movies, long walks in nature, and talking with friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Melinda Kay Sellers Thornton and Scott Hamilton Thornton Sr.

Survivors are his companion, Brooke Crosby of Jesup; a sister, Samantha (Dylan) Hill and their son, Matthew Allen of Jesup; a brother, Ryan Shoemaker of Texas; and several cousins.

Memorial services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 from Cracker Williams Recreation Center Building. Friends are requested to share a picnic celebration in his memory.
