January 17, 1945 – February 19, 2026
Sally Sitler Wasdin, 81, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Hawaiian native and former resident of Santa Barbara California had lived in Wayne County the past 46 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class. She was a retired Wayne County Home Health employee and in her spare time enjoyed cooking, playing games and taking care of her family. Her mother, Hilda Sitler preceded her in death along with her sister, Carol Sitler.
Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Ron Wasdin of Jesup; daughter, Carrie (James) Strickland and two sons, Greg (Crystal) Wasdin and Brett (Amy) Wasdin, all of Jesup; sister-in-law, Millie Wasdin of Brunswick; grandchildren, Reed (Rebecca) Wasdin, Ansley (Issac) Mock, Spencer (fiancé, Andrew Swindell) Wasdin, Layne Wasdin, Ella Gill, Hunter Wasdin, Madison (Jeremiah) Douglas, Cieara Smith, Austin (Kyler) Smith and Caroline Carter; several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, February 23, 2026 at Rinehart Chapel with Pastor Pete Boyd and Rev. Vann Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Screven City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matt and Jake Spell, Melvin and Ken Boyette, Darrell Wasdin and Joe Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will her Sunday School members.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 415 E. Cherry Street, Jesup, GA 31545.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
