Ronald Preston Norris, age 73, of Naples, Florida, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born to Joel and Beatrice Norris on August 2, 1950, in Columbus, GA. Ronald was a man of deep faith, known for his compassionate spirit and genuine love for his family.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Ronald served proudly in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971 as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.  He had a passion for music and dedicated much of his time to researching the genealogy and history of the Norris family.

Ronald pursued his love for the outdoors by establishing his own business as a Professional Land Surveyor and Mapper. His work allowed him to enjoy the natural world he cherished.

He married the love of his life, Ritsuko Nagata Norris, whom he met while stationed in Okinawa. They shared 54 beautiful years together.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Joel Allen Norris, Sr., and Beatrice Cobb Norris, his daughter Andrea Yuki Norris, and his brothers Haven Parker Anderson, Sr., Joel Allen Norris, Jr., Gerald Hugh Anderson, and Philip Randall Norris.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Ritsuko; his son Richard Allen "Rick" Norris (Vickie) of Orlando, FL; sisters Helen Anderson Johnson (Brian) of Cleveland, TN, Dr. Julie Stanley-Mack (Billy Gene) of Cobbtown, GA, and Gloria Adams (Stan) of Thunderbolt, GA; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 13th 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home, 860 Highway 301 South, Jesup, Georgia 31546, with Dr. Julie Stanley-Mack officiating.  The family will receive family and friends starting at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
