Ron Zipf, 80, of Odum, Ga. passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026 under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. The N.J. native had lived in Wayne County almost 50 years and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was reared a Methodist but attended several churches but in his later life, he converted to Catholicism. Art has been a part of his life from his childhood. He would sketch and use nature for a lot of his sculptures. He also enjoyed fishing. His parents, Henry and Audrey Zipf preceded him in death along with his sister, Gladys Margarite Zipf.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Shirley Aspinwall Zipf of Odum; a son, Bob (Windy) Zipf of Odum and daughter, Linda Ann (Allen Dukes) Strayer of Brunswick; grandchildren, Randa Spradley, Peyton Jaymes, Willow Ann Spivey and Miles Allan Strayer and their father, Robbie Strayer.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in Odum City Cemetery with Chaplain Ryan Wilson officiating.
