Robert E. “Stump” Lynn, Sr., 72, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026. The Wayne County native was a member of Union Baptist Church and attended Unity Church of God. The retired Rayonier employee enjoyed hunting, running heavy equipment, piddling in the barn and spending time with his family, especially extended family at reunions. Robert was known to be a jokester because he liked to make people laugh and remember good times. His parents, Lonnie Alton Lynn, Sr. and Carolyn Channell Lynn preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Cynthia Lynn of Jesup; a daughter, Melanie Lynn of Jesup; two sons, Robert (Stacey) Lynn, Jr. of Jesup and Chris (Christy Denison) Lynn of Screven; 5 grandchildren, Cade and Cam Lynn, Clay Benfield, David Himes and Cheyenne Hall; sisters, Patricia “Susie” (Greg) Capra and Cindy (Larry) Strickland; brother, Lonnie, Jr. (Sally) Lynn; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, October 2, 2026 at Unity Church of God with Pastor Calvin Anderson and Rev. Brandon Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cade and Cam Lynn, David Himes, Clay Benfield, Jr Lynn, and Wyatt Strickland.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the funeral home.
