Robert "Bob"
Jameson
March 10, 1948 – June 12, 2026
Robert “Bob” Jameson, 78, of Townsend, Ga. passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026. Bob was born on March 10, 1948, in the Philippines to parents Ralph Jameson and Corinne Jameson. He was raised in Okinawa with his two sisters, Elizabeth and Elaine, and graduated from Kubasaki High School in 1966. After high school, he attended the University of Hawaii where he participated in the Reserve Officers Training Corps and commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force upon graduation. Bob served his country piloting a C-141 Starlifter during the Vietnam War and leaving the service with the rank of Captain. He received a commendation from the Air Force for airlifting children and families from Vietnam. He began his career as a commercial airline pilot with Eastern Airlines in Miami, Florida before moving to Atlanta, Georgia where flew for the United Parcel Service for 24 years until his retirement. He absolutely loved being a pilot and had a lifelong passion for aviation and airplanes.
Throughout his life, he loved entertaining both his family and friends. Whether it was on stage in front of a crowd playing guitar in his band, or making sushi surrounded by his family, he was always happiest when he could bring joy to others. He had a talent and passion for cooking and loved nothing more than having his family and close friends around the kitchen enjoying each other’s company. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the times on his boat out on the marsh catching fish with his wife and children. He was a friend to many and always went out of his way to help those who he cared for. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was kind to all, and possessed an infectious optimism. He was active in his local church and had strong convictions about his faith in God. More than anything, he simply loved being a husband and a father. And he was a great one.
Bob is survived by his wife of forty-five years Peg, and his three daughters, Lainey Corinne Jameson, Devon Mae Jones (Dakota Chance Jones), and Rebecca Anne Jameson; and his son, Lieutenant Commander Robert Elliott Jameson, USN (Heidi Wilson Jameson). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Crosby Jane Jameson, Helen Ann Jameson, Bellamy Jameson Jones, and Violet Mae Jones and his sisters, Elizabeth Jameson, and Elaine Jameson.
