James "Richard" Moore, Sr., 79, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023.  The Wayne County native was owner and operator of A1 Upholstery in Jesup and loved fishing, dog hunting and family cookouts.  His parents, I.J. and Jewel Jackson Moore preceded him in death along with siblings, Daniel Moore, Avron "Chicken Box" Moore and Delores Goss.

Survivors are two daughters, Jennie (Daniel) Hopper of Jesup and Melinda (Steve) Bernard of Mt. Dora, Fla.; a son, James Richard "Shorty" Moore, Jr. of Jesup; two sisters, Maurice Goss of Brunswick and Bernice Dixon of Waycross; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, June 26, 2023 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Randall Outlaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Flint Branch Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
