Jesup, Ga. Robert Jerry "Rabbit" Johnson, 73 of Jesup, Ga. died Friday, April 20, 2012 after an extended illness. The Glynn County, Ga. native had lived in Wayne County, Ga. most of his life and attended Unity Church of God. He was a retired pulpwood worker and loved going to the dog tracks and fishing. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Joyce Ann Williams Johnson of Jesup, Ga.; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Walker Ogden of Odum, Ga., Melody Yepez of Jesup, Ga.; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Sharon Johnson of Auburn, Ga., Buster Johnson of Jesup, Ga.; 4 sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosalee Turner of St. Augustine, Fla., Evelyn Brockington of Jesup, Ga., Linda Pate of Atkinson, Ga., Lolita and Jimmy Starling of Jesup, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, "Pug" and Peachy Johnson of Brunswick, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Unity Church of God with Pastor George Moxley officiating. Interment will be in the Moody Tillman Cemetery in Odum, Ga. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jason Busboom, Brett Johnson, Lou Ogden, Jeremy Johnson, Drew Ogden, Joshua Johnson, Koty Johnson, Blake Ogden, and Tristan Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South Georgia, Ray Thornton, Ron Sluder, Grant Lewis, Greg Grantham and John Conner. Visitation will be 2 to 3 P.M. prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia Building Fund, 117 Drennon Drive, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
