Obituary

Nancy Sue Stafford Nobles, 90, of Ludowici, Ga. passed away at her home on Friday, July 17, 2026 after an extended illness. She was born at Taylors Creek in Liberty County to the late Allen Brazwell Stafford and Birdie Lee Perry Stafford. Nancy was a graduate of Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University). She retired after 30 years of teaching in both Long and Wayne County School Systems. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Ludowici. Her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Gerald Edmund Nobles preceded her in death along with 10 siblings including brothers, James (Katrina), Allen (Mary Alice), Edwin (Madeira and Alethia), Herman (Ruth), Ralph (Ann), Lawton (Bernice), Bobby (Joann) Stafford and sisters, Betty (Earl) Smart and Dorothy (Donald) Combs.

Survivors are two daughters, Lisa (George) Trexler and Lori Fry; a son, Edmund (Sue) Nobles; 6 grandchildren, Roy Fry, Brett (Molly) Nobles, Jenna (Tillman) Daughtrey, Davis Trexler, Alec Trexler and Caroline Trexler; 5 great grandchildren, Ford, Sloan and Harper Nobles, Charlie and Lanier Daughtrey.

A private family graveside funeral service will be held in Jones Creek Cemetery with Rev. Dale Bange officiating.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of South Georgia for the compassionate care they provided to our mother during her final days.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
