IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Dart
Grooms
September 26, 1953 – February 23, 2025
Nancy Dart Grooms, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend passed away in the great care and facility of Hospice of South Georgia on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the age of 72. Nancy, known by her grandchildren and close friends as "Nanny", has joined her parents, Jack and Ida May Dart, and her brother Jackie in Heaven. Nancy has been survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Tom Grooms, of Jesup, Georgia; daughters, Amy Justice of Jacksonville, Florida (husband John Russell of Jacksonville, Florida) and Tonya Grooms Summers of Sparta, Missouri (husband Ryan Summers of Sparta, Missouri); and son Brian of Columbia, South America. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Megan Summers of Republic, Missouri; Baily Summers of Canyon, Texas; Zach Peterson of Jacksonville, Florida; and Dylan Peterson of Jacksonville, Florida. Nancy's sister Pam McDonald of Jesup, Georgia and her brother Randy Dart of Atlanta, Georgia survive her still. She has nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends that will miss her!
Nancy Dart Grooms was a retired Special Education teacher of both Florida (her early career) and Georgia, retiring from the Wayne County School District. She loved and took pride in her job and every student that came through her classroom left their fingerprints on her heart and she would confess, made her into the woman she was! Nancy loved to sew, quilt, and craft. If not crafting, you could very well find her shopping for future craft projects! She was a "happy camper", loved camping, the water, and being outdoors with her husband, family, and friends!
The love, care, and impact that Nancy Dart Grooms had on the lives of those around her will be one of her lasting legacies!
