James "Mike" Sweat, 63, of Brunswick, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  The Wayne County native loved to do yardwork, fish and carpentry work.  His parents, James Jefferson and Emma Lee Blanton Sweat preceded him in death along with a brother, Allen Sweat.

Survivors are a sister, Angie Sweat (Carl) Futch of Jesup; several aunts, including Evone Riggs and Latrelle (Dennis) Durrence, both of Jesup; two step-brothers, Herman (Kim) Manning and Larry (Zelda) Manning, both of Jesup; a step-sister, Opal (Oscar) DelaEspirella of Darien.

Due to inclement weather funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, September 13, 2024 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Tommy Gill officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home.
