Mezell Blanton Floyd, 83, of Jesup, Ga. died on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.  The Wayne County native was a member of Crossroads Church of God, a homemaker and a servant for the Lord.  She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. Her husband, Rev. Maurice Floyd preceded her in death along with her daughter, Patty Renee Floyd and grandson, Randall Floyd.

Survivors are a son, Randy (Barbara) Floyd of Midway; a daughter, Donna (Leon) McKenzie of Twin City; two grandchildren, Krystal Harvey (Donnie) Smiley of Baxley and Jonathan (Danna) Harvey of Odum; great grandchildren, Garrison, Layton, Hayes, Hagen and Paisley-Kaye; sister, Bevy Fennel and brother, Cecil Blanton; special niece, Lory Ann and her daughter, Madison.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Hulet Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
