Obituary

Marion Preston Bryant, 81, passed away on April 11, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on March 13, 1944, in Midland City, Alabama, to Frank Bryant and Ruby Preston Bryant.

Marion graduated from Odum High School in 1962 and soon after moved to Gainesville, Florida, where he began an apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 1205). He completed his training as a journeyman electrician and went on to dedicate over 55 years of service to the IBEW. His work took him across the country, contributing to major projects such as Disney World, the World Trade Center, the Kennedy Space Center, and many others.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Bryant Wheeler (Stephen) and Lisa Ann Bryant; his grandchildren, Travis Stephen Wheeler and Gracie Lynne Wheeler; and his siblings, Diane Wright (Charles), Neva Jo Hutcheson (James), Ricky Bryant (Cherie), and Ronnie Bryant (Flora). He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Marion was previously married to Carolyn Cascio Bryant for 30 years.

A graveside service will be held 3 PM Thursday, April 17, 2025 in Odum City Cemetery.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
