IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Sue
Bowers
January 1, 1946 – December 27, 2022
Margaret Sue Bowers, 76, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Margaret began her life as a cityfied mountain girl in the coal-rich Appalachian hills of Amherstdale, West Virginia. She grew into a hard-working young lady by helping to keep a household spic and span under the scrutinous eye of her exacting grandmother. She spread her wings as a budding adult and traveled to Hunting Beach, California to begin her adventurous life.
Eventually, Margaret met and married Ken Bowers. Together they lived and worked in numerous locations across the country. Wherever she went, she found work to enjoy and add to her growing list of skills. From cooking, serving and managing small diners to packing eggs to picking strawberries to animal husbandry to making disposable items at Dart Container, she was never one to stay idle long enough for the dust to settle around her feet.
She came to Jesup, Georgia while Ken was employed by American Tank and Welding and stayed after his retirement. She then continued to lovingly serve her family, first as Ken's caregiver and then as her own mother's caregiver while both of her loved ones battled cancer to the end of their days.
After enduring a stubbornly determined and decidedly independent fight against cancer herself, she at last made it home for Christmas when she slipped away in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Margaret is survived by her dear son, Rick Blevins, her daughter-in-law Cherryl and grandson Tyler, all living in Ohio.
Private memorial services are being handled by the family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
