Lois Holmes, 90, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The New York native had lived in Wayne County the past 43 years.  She adored her pet cat, "Bella" and loved to receive and send greeting cards.  Her husband of 47 years, Gleyn Holmes preceded her in death along with a sister, Shirley Freeman and two brothers, Robert and Ansell Sweet.

Survivors are her daughter, Carole (Philip) Trumbull of Jesup; a son, Steven (Penny) Holmes of Lakeland, Fla.; 6 grandchildren, Philip, Amanda (Travis), Jennifer, Tori and Joy Sue; 5 great grandchildren, Savannah, Grant, Rayne, Erica and Melinda; a great-great granddaughter, Alice; a brother, Larry (Sue) Sweet of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a special niece, Sally Grossman; a special friend, Kathy Carter.

Private memorial services will be held by the family.
