Lenton Dean Thompson, Jr., 57, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  The Wayne County native and 1983 Wayne County High School Graduate and Little Creek Baptist Church member was a millwright with United Steel Workers Local Union 1087 out of Riceboro.  Dean, the drummer, had music flowing through his veins, enjoying rock 'n roll and country genres. When he wasn't playing or listening to music, the grill master concentrated on fishing and watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs but his grandbabies took center stage when they were around. His son, Chase Schoolfield preceded him in death along with his maternal grandparents, Gerald Richard and Juanita Landon Bennett; paternal grandparents, Lenton and Pauline Batten Thompson; uncles, Ronnie Parmer and Alan Bennett; aunts, Katie Ruth "Nanny" (Donald) Horton and Kay Bennett Geiger.

Survivors are two daughters, Brooke (Keith) Kinna and Madison (Daniel) Darden, both of Jesup; grandchildren, Katee, Kennedy, Maxen and Docton; parents, Lenton Dean Thompson, Sr. and Dale Bennett Lamb; brother, Jody Thompson; Uncle Ricky Bennett and Aunt Fran Parmer; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation and viewing will be 5 to 6 PM Friday, August 12, 2022 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
