Laverne Sapp Harris, 90, of Jesup, Ga. died Thursday, April 28, 2022.  The Appling County native had lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a member of Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.  She enjoyed caring for her family as a wife and mother.  Her husband, James H. Harris, preceded her in death along with her son, James B. Harris, a daughter, Patricia Mae Harris, a granddaughter, Ashley Diane Harris and two grandsons, Jason and James "Jr." Solomon Harris.

Survivors are a daughter, Sharon (Bill) Brown of Jesup; sons, James Carroll (Joann) Harris, Carl (Jeris) Harris and Roger (Sybil) Harris, Harold (Donna) Harris all of Wayne County; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Trudy Arbuckle; brother, Russell Sapp; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m.  Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Elder Jason Deal officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kyle Ellis, Zach Ellis, Chris Woods, Dustin Ogden, Jeremy Flynn, and Justin O'Quinn.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
