Lawrence "Larry" Sims, 67, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on January 28, 2026, after battling illness. Larry was born on June 23, 1958, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to the late Roy and Vada Lou Sims. Larry loved fishing and hunting, but above all, he loved his family. In his later years, he proudly embraced his role as a full-time grandpa and, as he liked to say "holding down his chair." His family was truly his whole world.
He is survived by three children: Michele Keith and husband Kyle of Jesup, Melissa Walling and husband Travis of Jesup and Andrew Sims and wife Haleigh of Collins. He also leaves behind grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Addyson Walling, Grayson Walling, and Annaleigh Walling, Aven Keith, Kaden Keith, Kyler Keith and Kymble Keith.
Larry is also survived by his sisters, Nannette Panning and husband Paul of Mound City, Mo. and Roiann Huber and husband Dennis of Thayer, Mo.; many nieces and nephews; 3 special friends who meant a great deal to him, Kelvin Mock, Chad Thornton and Jeneice Thornton.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
