Larry W. McLendon, 73, a devoted husband, father, and Papa, passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson's. The Tatnall County native lived most of his life in Jesup. He retired as lead operator in the Caustic Area of Rayonier Advanced Materials after 44 years of service. His humble spirit was demonstrated through his generosity and selfless acts of kindness and love. He cherished his family above all else and in their eyes he was their hero. Melba, his wife of 55 years was his high school sweetheart, best friend, and "number one girl". He enjoyed spending time with family whether it was back porch sitting, annual summer beach vacations, or simple family get-togethers. A strong man of his faith, he was a member of Unity Church of God and the Believers' Sunday School class. His faith in God was quiet, yet echoed loudly in his character and actions. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Wilbert and Doris McLendon, two brothers, Wayne and Joseph McLendon, two sisters, Linda McLendon and Shirley Storm.

Survivors are his loving wife, Melba Sapp McLendon, of Jesup; two adoring daughters, Stephanie (Andy) Thompson and Natalie (Robbie) Thompson, both of Brunswick, Ga.; his cherished grandchildren, Jacob (Amelia) Cook, Alex Cook, Zach Thompson, and Sophie Thompson; two sisters, Kathy Rogers of Hazlehurst, Ga. and Phyllis Brantley of Jesup, Ga.

Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Calvin Anderson and Rev. George Moxley officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family.

Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.
