Larry Ferrel Brannen, 78, of Jesup, Ga. passed away, Monday, September 15, 2025, under the care of At Home Senior Living and Hospice of South Georgia. Larry, #36 on the Jesup Yellow Jacket football team, was voted Mr. Jesup High School by his many friends and classmates before graduating in 1966. He was a proud veteran following his four years of service in the US Air Force. He then attended Brunswick Junior College and later graduated from the University of Georgia. After graduation, he enjoyed and completed a distinguished career with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. Upon retirement Larry returned "home" to Jesup, Ga where he enjoyed hosting many lifelong friends with game day cookouts while cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Rufus A. "Lonnie" Brannen and Alcene Murray Brannen, and a brother, Charles A. Brannen.

Survivors are a brother, Neal (Sherrie) Brannen of Dalton, Ga.; sister-in-law, Elaine Nichols Brannen of Jesup; a niece, Leigh Brannen; a nephew, Paul (Synthia) Brannen; great nieces, Taylor, Graysen, and Morgan Brannen, all of Jesup; and a life-long friend, Kenny Bryant.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Larry will take place at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, September 19 from 3:00 -4:30 p.m.  He will be remembered as a patriot who loved his country, as a True friend and a faithful fan of the Wayne County Yellow Jackets and the UGA dawgs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, GA 31545.
