Obituary

Lanford William Deloach, 79, of Statesboro, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 2, 2026. L.W. “Dub” as he was known to his family and friends, had lived in Statesboro for 11 years, but had previously lived in Appling County near Surrency. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Baxley, Georgia. He grew up in Chatham County, Georgia and graduated from Savannah High School. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed by NCR (National Cash Register) for several years, then he worked for Brown & Root for seven years, which included work in the North Sea. He was a member of the IBEW and worked as a maintenance electrician for International Paper in Savannah for several years before moving to Interstate Paper in Riceboro, Georgia, where he served as maintenance supervisor. His family was the center of his heart in everything he did because of his fierce love for them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanford W. DeLoach, Sr. and Ella Brannen McGettigan; a sister, Janara McCord, a daughter, Lisa Lynn Cameron, and a granddaughter, Paisley Elizabeth Wilkins.

 Survivors are his loving wife of 54 years, Buanell Fennell DeLoach, of Statesboro, a daughter, Angela Cameron Wilkins (Martin), of Springfield, a sister, Tawana Beavers of Trinity, North Carolina, and many extended family members and friends.

 Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating. Interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery in Screven. Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
