Kathleen Griffis Purcell, 92, of Jesup, Ga. passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. The Wayne County native was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and was a former AVON sales lady.  She was most known for her chocolate layer cakes and coconut cakes. Kathleen was very family oriented and doted on her grandchildren. Her husband, Gene Purcell preceded her in death along with her daughter, Kathy Jean Purcell; great grandson, Brennan Clark; sisters, Joann Smith, Jeanette Jones, Lawanda Bennett; brothers, Cecil, Albert and Herbert Griffis and daughter-in- law, Debbie Purcell.

Survivors are two sons, Ricky Purcell of Jesup and Ronnie Purcell of LaGrange; 4 grandchildren, April Purcell and Jennifer (Brent)  Clark, both of Jesup, Ridge (Mallory) Purcell and Leslie Purcell, both of LaGrange; 6 great-grandchildren, Katlyn (Codi) Johnson, Logan (fiancé, Nathan) Clark, Caleb Watson, Braiden Clark, Kyleigh Purcell and Walker Purcell;  great-great grandchildren, Blakely, Rowan, Jameson and Sebastian; sister, Imogene Teston; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Rinehart Chapel with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.  Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
