Katherine Alvelo, 45, of Jesup, Ga. passed away Wednesday July 8th, 2026. The Pennsylvania native was a wife, mother and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed baking, cooking shows and Christmas as her favorite holiday. She was very detail oriented and liked to be the main hostess in the family. She hosted every gathering, she carefully planned meals and always made her guests feel comfortable. She was a mother who would do anything for her kids. She always fought tooth and nail to protect them. Her personality was vibrant, sassy and very much unhinged. She had a great sense of humor and was the queen of comebacks. Yet the best trait about her was that she didn't sugar coat anything. She was straight forward whether you liked it or not and then still offered you a cup of coffee to get over it. Towards the end of her life, she rededicated herself back to Christ and made sure all her children knew the Lord and Savior. She was predeceased by her father, Jose Ervin Alvelo.

Survivors are her children, Italia Lee Vail (Damarion Vail) , Natalie Leanne Molina (Evan Griffin), Erien Jake Alvelo, Gionni Javier Alvelo; spouse , Franciso Javier Romo; parents, Vivian Enid Torres and Fidel Torres; siblings, Vivian Enid Alvelo and Wilfrido Rivera (Olga Rivera); grandchildren, Grayson Tyler Griffin, Da’Koa Ti’Shaun Vail, and Rowen Elijah Griffin; nieces and nephews include Bebi Marrero (Regina Marrero), Carlos Marrero Jr., Honey Rebman, Guy Rebman Jr., Lelani Rivera, Wilfrido Jr. Rivera, Isaac Rivera, Scarlett Rivera, Leahanna Marrero, Isaiah Marrero, Luna Marrero, Alias Marrero; extended siblings, Jasmine Ivette Alvelo, Leemary Sharde Alvelo, Jose Ervin Alvelo Jr., Odalys Perkins, Christopher Alvelo, Jose Donato Alvelo, Loriah Lucy Alvelo, along with her extended nieces, nephews and family back home in Pennsylvania.

Memorial services will be held 2 PM Sunday July 12, 2026 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel, 860 Hwy 301 South Jesup, Georgia 31546.

The family requests no flowers to be sent, only Christmas themed items as that was Katherine's favorite holiday.
