Josephine Joneida Sikes Dent,93, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. She was born in Screven, Georgia to the late Fulton Truman Sikes and Allie Green Sikes. Mrs. Dent was preceded in death by Vernon Aurice Dent, her husband of 46 years and her sons Thomas Vernon Dent and Robert Jerrell (Jerry) Dent. Mrs. Dent was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, relatives and friends. She was a member of Jesup First United Methodist Church where she was in the Joy Sunday School Class and the Una Ritch Yeomans Circle.

She is survived by her daughter - Gail Dent Hoover, Franklin, Tennessee; her brother - Newton C. Sikes (Jean), Screven, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Sharon Donahue Dent; grandchildren -  Kevin Dent (Monica), Page Dent, Kellie Dent Ogelsby (Chuck), Melanie H. Graves, Michelle H. Peterson (Jim), Zachary J. Dent; great-grandchildren - Cole Dent, Nash J. Peterson; several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at a later time at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery, Jesup Georgia.
