Jesup, Ga. Joseph E. "Joey" Woodcock, 50 of Jesup, Ga. died Sunday, May 01, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness. The Pierce County, Ga. native had lived in Wayne County, Ga. most of his adult life and was a Baptist. He was a former construction worker with Seaboard Construction Co., Grant Lewis Logging Company and enjoyed helping for 23 years as a Jesup Volunteer Firefighter. He also enjoyed farming and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Survivors are his wife of 11 months: Pamela Cole Woodcock of Jesup, Ga.; his parents: Earl and Freida Woodcock of Jesup, Ga.; 2 sisters: Rita (Robert) Bennett of Vidalia, Ga., Sheila (Ricky) Hires of Jesup, Ga.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Unity Church of God with Vic Drawdy officiating. Interment will be in New Home Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Offerman, Ga. with Fire Fighting Caisson Honors. Active pallbearers will be members of the Area Fire Departments.
