John Larry Rowell, 78, of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, March 19, 2024.  The Bacon County native and former resident of Ware County had lived in Wayne County for the past 40 years.  He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a retired Civil Service employee.  The U.S. Army Veteran was an avid farmer and loved peddling his produce and enjoyed spending time with his family and pets.  His stepson, Jimmy Cobb preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Glenda Wells Rowell of Jesup; a son, Jay (Marisol) Rowell of Lawrenceville; several step-grandchildren; several extended family members, including Ray and Kay Wells and Harold and Bridgett Rowell.

Graveside funeral services will be 3 PM Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Old Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Dennie Waters officiating. American Flag presentation will be presented by the American Legion Post 311.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
